CCTV released following attempted sexual assault of woman - Caringbah

Police have released CCTV footage of a man who might be able to assist with inquiries following an alleged attempted sexual assault of a woman in Sydney’s south.

About 10.20pm yesterday (Thursday 20 April 2017), a 19-year-old woman was walking in an alleyway which links Willarong Road and Curtis Street, Caringbah, when she was grabbed from behind by a male not known to her.

The woman fell to the ground with the male making attempts to sexually assault her.

She was able to fight the man off and run away, however, her handbag was cast aside during the incident and it was left at the scene.

The woman reported the incident to police a short time later.

Officers from Miranda Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following investigations, officers have released CCTV footage of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries. He is described as having dark skinned, 170-175cm tall, with a solid build, and was last seen wearing a grey jumper.
