Man charged after stabbing - Kingsford

A man has been charged after a stabbing in Sydney’s eastern suburbs this morning.

About 6.30am (Thursday 20 April 2017) emergency services were called to a unit block on Barker Street, Kingsford, following reports that a man had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, police found a man aged in his 30s, with a number of stab wounds to his head and back.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene, before he was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. His injuries are not considered life threatening.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 35-year-old man on Gardeners Road, Kingsford.

He has been charged with wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, assault, resist arrest and malicious damage.

The man was refused bail and will appear in Waverley Local Court tomorrow (Friday 21 April 2017).
