Pedestrian critical after being hit by car - Brighton Le Sands

A man is in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in Brighton Le Sands overnight.
About 6.40pm (Saturday 15 April 2017), emergency services were called to the intersection of Moate Avenue and Bruce Street following reports a car had hit a pedestrian.
Officers from St George Local Area Command attended and found a 68-year-old man had been hit by a car at the location.
The man fell onto the roadway and sustained head injuries. He was taken to St George Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver, who stopped and rendered aid to the man, was taken for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Inquiries are continuing.
