Police have released images of a car involved in a shooting at Auburn last month, hoping it will assist in identifying witnesses.

About 9.20pm on Wednesday 29 March 2017, a 39-year-old man was shot several times while in an underground car park on Park Road in Auburn.

He was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to Westmead Hospital for treatment, as police from Flemington Local Area Command established a crime scene.

Police can confirm the vehicle used in the shooting was a white Porsche Macan, and that it was stolen – along with a red Mini Cooper – in an aggravated break and enter at Haberfield on Monday 20 March 2017.

Police found the Porsche Macan on fire shortly after 1am on Thursday 30 March 2017 in Loder Lane, Punchbowl. The vehicle has been seized and forensically examined.

Investigators are of the belief this was a targeted attack.
