Man charged with breaking offences - North Shore

Police have arrested and charged a man with breaking offences after responding to reports of a man trying to access balconies on the North Shore.
Officers were called to Eric Road, Artarmon, about 2pm yesterday (Friday 7 April 2017) following reports a man had climbed up to a number of balconies at a unit block.
Upon arrival, they spoke briefly to a man who then fled with officers chasing him on foot.
The 26-year-old man was arrested a short time later, allegedly resisting arrest.
During a search, officers allegedly located breaking implements, a number of items suspected of being stolen and an amount of cash.
He was taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged with break enter and steal, attempted break enter and steal, possess housebreaking implements and resist officers in the execution of duty.
One of the charges relates to an alleged break and enter at Willoughby during which an amount of cash was stolen.
The man, who was found to be illegally in Australia, was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
