Man charged following pursuit - Mortdale

A man appeared in court today following a pursuit with police earlier in the week at Mortdale.

About 10.45am on Tuesday 4 April 2017, police attached to the St George Proactive Crime Team attended a house at Mutual Road in regards to an inquiry.

Upon sighting police a 22-year-old man allegedly left the house in a stolen utility and headed towards Henry Lawson Drive.

Police followed the car and attempted to pull it over; however, the driver failed to comply and a pursuit commenced through Peakhurst and Riverwood. Police terminated the pursuit.

Just before midday yesterday (Wednesday 5 April 2017), police attended Mutual Road and located the 22-year-old man hiding in the cavity underneath the house.

He was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit-not stop-drive dangerously, Class A vehicle displaying unauthorised number plate, drive while disqualified and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and appeared in Sutherland Local Court today.
