Man charged over alleged sexual and indecent assault of teen - SCC Child Abuse Squad

A man has been charged with the alleged sexual and indecent assault of a girl known to him.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad commenced an investigation in January following reports a girl had been sexually and indecently assaulted by a person known to her.

Following extensive investigations, a 43-year-old man was arrested at a home at Kearns just after 8am yesterday (Wednesday 5 April 2017).

He was taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station, where he was charged with 13 counts of aggravated sexual intercourse person between 14 and 16, six counts of indecent assault person under the age of 16, and aggravated sexual assault - victim under the age of 16.

Police will allege the girl was sexually and indecently assaulted on a number of occasions while at the man’s home earlier this year.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday, and is due to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 31 May 2017.

The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.
