Motorcyclist dies in crash - Homebush West

A motorcycle rider has died following a crash at Homebush West today.

About 1.40pm (Wednesday 5 April 2017), emergency services were called to the M4 Motorway, near the Homebush Bay Drive exit, following reports that a motorcycle rider and a truck had collided.

The female motorcyclist suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 42-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing. He was not injured.

Officers from Flemington Local Area Command, with the assistance of Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Only one westbound lane on the M4 Motorway at Homebush Bay Drive is open and motorists are advised to avoid the area or delay travel where possible.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
