Three bodies located in Tweed River

Police divers have recovered three bodies from a submerged vehicle in Tweed River, near Tumbulgum in northern NSW.
Emergency services were called to Dulguigan Road about 1.40pm yesterday (Monday 3 April 2017) after a child, who was travelling in the vehicle, alerted nearby residents.
About 3.25pm yesterday (Monday 3 April 2017), boats using sonar equipment located the vehicle about 5m from the northern river bank.
The bodies are yet to be formally identified. Police divers are yet to recover the vehicle.
The eight-year-old girl is being cared for by family members.
Officers from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command will investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
