Man charged after search warrant - Glebe

A man will face court after police executed a search warrant in Glebe today and allegedly located drugs, identity items and stolen property.
About 6.45am today (Monday 27 February 2017) police attached to the Sydney City Target Action Group, acting on information received, executed a search warrant at a home unit in Wentworth Street.
Police will allege that as they forced entry to the premises a 31-year-old man was observed to throw several items off the balcony to the unit below.
The man then violently resisted the officers who were eventually able to arrest him.
Police then attended the unit below and seized three bags of identity documents and four mobile phones.
Investigators will allege that they also located and seized a large amount of mail, credit cards, drivers licences and identity documents in several names.
Phones, cash, prescription medication and illicit drugs along with a large amount of property suspected of being stolen were also seized.
A woman in the unit at the time was detained by police but released pending further inquiries.
The man was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with possess identity information to commit indictable offence (x 3), resist officer in the execution of duty, possess prohibited drug and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.
The man was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court on Tuesday 28 February 2017.
