Man charged after assaulting police - Kirribilli

Police have charged a man after he allegedly assaulted two Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers in Sydney’s north.
Just before 9pm yesterday (Friday 24 February 2017), police were called to Kirribilli Avenue, Kirribilli, following reports three men were attempting to enter premises before being approached by AFP officers.
It will be alleged a 35-year-old man approached the AFP vehicle and began to hit it before pushing two of the AFP officers in the chest.
Officers attached to Harbourside Local Area Command were contacted and arrived a short time later.
Two men, aged in their 30’s, left the scene after being spoken to by police.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and taken to North Sydney Police Station.
He has been charged with two counts of assault law enforcement officer, resist arrest, offensive language and malicious damage.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 17 March 2017.
