Man charged following brawl - Sydney CBD

Police have charged man and investigations are continuing after a brawl in Sydney’s CBD.

Just before 11pm yesterday (Friday 24 February 2017), emergency services were called to an apartment block on Pitt Street, Sydney, following reports of a brawl in a stairwell.

Upon arrival, officer’s located four men, all believed to be in their 20’s in a fight. As police intervened, three officers were assaulted and as a result oleoresin spray was used.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated two of the men at the Day Street Police Station, before they were taken to St Vincent Hospital.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with assault police and resist arrest.

He was granted bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 23 March 2017.

The second man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he is currently assisting with inquiries.
