Replica pistol seized, man charged - Haymarket

Officers from Police Transport Command have charged a man after he was allegedly found to be is possession of a replica pistol in Haymarket yesterday.
About 12.35pm (Wednesday 22 February 2017), police received a call for assistance from a member of the public after a man was seen with what appeared to be a firearm tucked into his pants.
The man was seen leaving Central Railway Station via the Eddy Avenue exit.
Officers responded and spoke with the man on Eddy Avenue before he was searched. Officers allegedly located a replica pistol that was tucked down the waistband of his pants.
The 28-year-old man was arrested and taken to Sydney City Police Station where he was charged with goods in custody, possess unregistered firearm, assault and intimidation.
He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court today (Thursday 23 February 2017).
