Appeal for information after an attempted break-in - Carrington

Police are appealing for information after an attempted break and enter at Carrington last week.

Shortly before 4.30pm (Saturday 11 February 2017), police were called to a home on Denison Street, Carrington, following reports of a break and enter.

Police have been told a 45-year-old man was home, when he heard a noise in his backyard.

The 45-year-old man went to investigate and was confronted by an unknown man who allegedly smashed the rear window of his home.

The unknown man fled the scene on foot empty handed. He was last seen in a northerly direction along Marsden Street, Carrington.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Newcastle City Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to a man depicted in this image, who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 25 to 30 years of age, of average build, with straight light brown/sandy hair.

He was last seen wearing a baseball style hat, no shirt, cream coloured shorts and blue and white shoes.
