Police locate hydroponic set up and seize more than $350,000 in cannabis plants - Strike Force Grassy

A man will face court today on a drug cultivation charge following a search warrant in Sydney’s inner-west.
Strike Force Grassy was established by officers attached to Redfern Region Enforcement Squad (RES) to investigate the enhanced indoor cultivation of cannabis plants.
Just before 3pm yesterday (Thursday 30 March 2017), police executed a search warrant at a house on Thornley Street, Marrickville.
During the search, police located a sophisticated hydroponic set up and seized 114 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than $350,000.
A 57-year-old man was arrested at the scene at the scene and taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plants (commercial quantity).
The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Newtown Local Court today (Friday 31 March 2017).
