Police investigate attempted robbery - Maitland

Police are appealing for public information after an attempted robbery in Maitland yesterday.

About 8.40pm (Thursday 30 March 2017), a 24-year-old was walking on the Telarah Oval, about 2km from Maitland, when he was approached by an unknown man.

The unknown man demanded cash, before punching the 24-year-old to the face.

The 24-year-old ran from the area.

Officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command commenced inquiries and would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist.

The man is described as being aged in his early 20’s, of thin build, and approximately 175cm tall.

He was last seen wearing black shorts and no shirt.
