Drive-by shooting - Maitland

Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Maitland overnight.

About 1.15am (Monday 27 March 2017), police were called to a home on Conder Crescent, Metford, following reports of shots fired.

Officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command attended and have been told a car has driven past the location and shots have been fired at the home.

No one was injured during the incident.

A crime scene has been established.

Initial investigations have indicated the incident is outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) related.

Detective Superintendent Craig Jackson, Commander of Central Hunter says police will continue to target those involved in criminal activity, including outlaw motorcycle gangs.

“Outlaw motorcycle gangs are groups that have no respect for the law, the communities they live in or society in general and our command, with the ongoing support from specialist units will continue to detect and disrupt any of their activities.

“If you have any information concerning the activities of outlaw motorcycle gangs, please contact police via crime stoppers. You can provide information anonymously and will be treated in the strictest confidence” Det Supt Jackson said.
