Drugs and stolen credit cards found after search warrant - Lake Macquarie

Police have located drugs and stolen credit cards after a search warrant in Charlestown today.

The Lake Macquarie LAC Property Crime Reduction Team has been conducting an ongoing investigation into a number of thefts from cars and the fraudulent use of stolen credits cards in the Lake Macquarie area.

The investigation progressed to the execution of a search warrant by Lake Macquarie Target Action Group (TAG) Officers at a home in Ida Street, Charlestown at 11.40am today (Thursday 23 March 2017).

During the search police located, and seized:

- A large amount of stolen property including stolen credit cards and identification documents,

- Cannabis seeds

- Prescription medications and

- Methamphetamine.

Officers arrested two men and a teenager at the home and they were taken to Belmont Police Station.

A 25-year-old man from the Ida Street, Charlestown address has been charged with larceny and four counts of goods in custody.

He will appear in Belmont Local Court on Wednesday 3 May 2017.

A 23-year-old man from the same address was issued a Court Attendance Notice for breach of bail.

He will appear in Newcastle Local Court on Friday 24 March 2017.

A 16-year-old boy also from the same address will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act in relation to receiving and fraud offences.

Inquiries into the stolen goods are continuing.
