Officers attached to Leichhardt Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by forensic officers.

A 51-year-old woman, who was nearby during the incident, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Following inquiries, yesterday (Sunday 19 March 2017), the 51-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station.

She was charged with damage property by fire and break and enter house (destroy property).
