Additional charges laid over alleged deliberately lit house fires - SCC Property Crime Squad

Detectives have laid additional charges as part of an investigation into deliberately lit house fires in Sydney’s west last year.
Strike Force Larrabee was established by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Property Crime Squad to investigate a series of house fires in the Mt Druitt area between 2015 and 2016.
In November 2016, a 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with dishonestly for gain damage property by fire, and damage property by fire/explosion.
The charges relate to a house fire on Langley Place, Blackett, on Thursday 22 September 2016.
Following further inquiries, strike force detectives laid an additional nine charges, including three counts of damage property by fire/explosion, three counts of break and enter intend to commit serious indictable offence, two counts of dishonestly for gain damage property by fire, and enter enclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse.
The charges relate to fires and break-ins at two homes on Boldrewood Road, Blackett between July and November in 2015.
The now 47-year-old man is due to appear at Mt Druitt Court today (Friday 17 March 2017).
