Fatal crash near Cooma

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal car crash in the state’s southern region last night.

About 8.30pm (Monday 13 March 2017), a silver Ford Falcon was travelling on the Snowy Mountains Highway, approximately 3kms west of Cooma, being driven by a 43-year-old man and carrying a 36-year-old female passenger.

For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle rolled landing on its roof.

The driver was taken to Cooma Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died.

The passenger was also taken to Cooma Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

Investigations continue into the cause of the crash and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
