Street robbery, police investigate - Zetland

Police are investigating after two women were robbed at gun-point in Zetland yesterday.

About 9pm (Monday 13 March 2017) two women aged 18 and 19 were walking on Portman Street when they were approached by a man.

The man was riding a black mountain bike when he turned in front on the women and produced a small black hand-gun while demanding their handbags and mobile phones.

They complied with his demands and handed the man their property before he rode north down Portman Street and out of sight.

The matter was reported to Redfern Police and an investigation is underway.

The man has been described as Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance and aged between 25 and30.

At the time of the robbery he was unshaven and was wearing a grey beanie with a t-shirt and jacket that were both dark in colour.
