Hit and run - Illawarra region

Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a hit and run in the Illawarra overnight which left a man suffering serious leg injuries.
Emergency services were called to Lake Entrance Road, Oak Flats, about 11.45pm (Saturday 11 March 2017) following reports a man had been hit by an east-bound vehicle while crossing the road.
The 41-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries and has been taken to Wollongong Hospital where he will undergo surgery.
The unknown vehicle did not stop and police are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
