Two injured after struck by ATV - Lake Macquarie

Two men have been injured after being struck by an ATV in the Lake Macquarie region.

About 1.50pm today (Saturday 11 March 2017), a 46-year-old man and a 48-year-old man were on Blacksmiths Beach, Lake Macquarie, when they were assisting in guiding an ATV backwards when they were struck by the vehicle.

The younger man was pinned under the vehicle for a short period before it was lifted off by multiple people.

The older man sustained an injury to his foot.

The 46-year-old was conveyed by Ambulance Paramedics to John Hunter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 48-year-old was treated at the scene.

The driver of the ATV, a 53-year-old man, was spoken to by police at the scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident. Inquiries are continuing.
