Drug charges - Wallsend

Police have charged a man with drug offences after seizing amphetamine from a car at Wallsend last night.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command stopped a Nissan Navara at Link Road, near Transfield Avenue, about 10.50pm (Friday 10 March 2017).

After speaking with the driver, officers searched the vehicle and located a number of small bags containing more than 10g of what’s alleged to be amphetamine.

The driver, a 46-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Toronto Local Court on Tuesday 28 March 2017.
