Driver charged after pedestrians hit - Warwick Farm

A man has been arrested after two people were hit as they walked along a footpath at Warwick Farm overnight.

A 19-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were struck after the car hit a parked vehicle then ran up onto the footpath on Lachlan Street, Warwick Farm, about 11pm (Friday 10 March 2017).

They were treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

A 23-year-old man, who is alleged to have been driving the vehicle, returned a positive roadside breath test and was arrested.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he returned a breath analysis reading of 0.152.

He has now been charged with high-range PCA and his licence was suspended on the spot. The man, who is from Warwick Farm, is due to appear in Liverpool Local Court on 5 April 2017.

Traffic was diverted for some hours while officers from the Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene.
