PolAir crew targeted by laser, man charged - Kingsgrove

A teenager has been charged after a laser pointer was allegedly directed at a NSW Police helicopter crew this morning.
The PolAir2 crew was patrolling Kingsgrove shortly after midnight (Saturday 11 March 2017), when they were hit with the beam of a laser pointer.
Campsie Police were alerted and attended a home in William Street, Kingsgrove about 12.30am.
Officers spoke with a 19-year-old man at the home and a laser pointer was seized.
The man was arrested and taken to Campsie Police Station where he has now been charged with
• Do act to threat safety of aircraft/persons on board
• Have in custody a laser pointer in public place, and
• Use laser pointer in public place.
He was granted bail to appear in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 4 April 2017.
