Man charged over guns, drugs and stolen property - Rosehill

A man will appear in court tomorrow after being charged with serious firearm and drug offences after police executed a search warrant at Ermington.

Shortly after 7am today (Friday 10 March 2017) officers from Rosehill Local Area Command Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a home in Boyle Avenue.

The officers, who had been part of a month-long investigation, arrested a 65-year-old man at the home.

During a search of the premises officers will allege that they located a .22 rifle, a homemade .410 shotgun and ammunition, along with more than 240g of methylamphetamine.

Officers also seized a large quantity of items including power tools that are believed to have been stolen or illegally obtained.

The man was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was later charged with possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm, possess ammunition without a licence, not keep firearm safely (x 2), supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug (x3) and goods in custody.

He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 11 March 2017).
