Spectator fight at Moore Park investigation

A teen remains in custody as inquiries continue into a fight in the members stand at an NRL game at Moore Park overnight.

A man was knocked to the ground when a fight broke out involving a group of youths about 9.45pm (Thursday 9 March 2017).

Police have been told the man was allegedly further assaulted before several men intervened to assist him.

Security attended and held a youth until police arrived; it’s believed the other youths involved in the fight then left the stadium.

The injured man has been taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he is being assessed for a suspected shoulder injury.

Police are now speaking with a number of witnesses as they work to identify those responsible.
