A man will appear in court today after a police pursuit while allegedly under the influence of alcohol in Nowra this morning.

About 2.45am (Thursday 9 March 2017), officers attached to Shoalhaven Local Area Command attempted to stop a Hyundai sedan as it drove along Kalander Street.

Police will allege the vehicle failed to stop when a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle stopped near St Ann Street and the driver ran into a house on the street.

The 25-year-old man was found in the premises and subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station, where a breath test analysis reading returned an alleged reading of 0.159.

The man was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive with high range PCA and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.

He was refused bail and will appear at Nowra Local Court today.
