Woman died after unit fire on the Northern Beaches

Police are investigating the circumstance surrounding a fire on the Northern Beaches overnight.
Emergency services were called to a unit block on Lagoon Street, Narrabeen about 10pm last night (Tuesday 7 March 2017), following reports of a fire in a unit.
Upon arrival, officers found the unit well alight, and the blaze was extinguished by Fire & Rescue NSW.
The body of a 79-year-old woman was located inside the unit.
Officers from Northern Beaches Local Area Command have launched an investigation into the circumstance surrounding the fire.
A crime scene was established which will be examined by forensic officers.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
A report outlining the circumstance of the woman death will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
