Police investigate aggravated break and enter - Illawarra

Police are investigating an aggravated break and enter in the Illawarra today.

About 11am (Monday 6 March 2017), police were called to a home in Osborne Parade, Warilla.

Police have been told that an unknown man entered the home and confronted the resident, a 43-year-old man, with a metal bar.

The resident has then fled the home.

The unknown man has then stolen the victim’s car keys and taken his Ford from the location.

A short time later, officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command sighted the Ford in King St, Warilla, where the driver fled on foot.

Officers established a perimeter and with the assistance of the Dog Unit and PolAir, began searching for the offender.

Despite an extensive search, police were unsuccessful in locating the man.

Investigations are continuing into the incident.
