Police release image in Beresfield assault investigation

Police have released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries into a serious assault at Beresfield late last year.

About 8pm on Wednesday 28 December 2016, a 22-year-old man got off a train at Beresfield Railway Station when he was set upon by a man who punched him.

The victim sustained a broken leg in the attack and was taken to Maitland Hospital for treatment. The offender fled the scene.

Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command commenced inquiries into the incident.

Investigators have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

In the image the man is seen wearing a black cap with a white motif and cream coloured pants.
