Armed robbery and carjacking - Villawood

Investigations are underway after an armed robbery and carjacking in Sydney’s west.
Police have been told a man entered a supermarket on Villawood Place, Villawood, just before 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday 5 March 2017), armed with a knife.
The man walked behind the counter, threatened a female staff member and demanded cash, before fleeing the scene with a sum of money.
As he headed toward River Avenue, the man approached a Toyota 86 Coupe, and got in the front passenger seat. He threatened the male driver with a knife and demanding he drive off.
The driver told police the man got out of his vehicle on Belmore Street. As the man exited the vehicle, and attempted to run away, the driver also accelerated and struck the man. He then got up and was last seen running east on Belmore Street.
Officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command established two crimes scenes and have commenced an investigation.
Police would like to speak to a man who might be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described to police as being of Caucasian appearance and 30-35 years old. He was last seen wearing a white hooded jumper, dark tracksuit pants and light blue dishwashing gloves.
