Woman extradited from Victoria over Moama incident

A woman has been extradited from Victoria after an arrest warrant for the offence of attempted murder was granted to detectives from Deniliquin Local Area Command this afternoon.
About 7pm (Thursday 2 March 2017), police were called to Perricoota Road, Moama, after a nine-year-old boy was found with serious dog bite injuries. He remains in a stable condition in a Melbourne hospital after undergoing surgery.
A search was initiated after police were told a five-year-old boy was missing.
About 10pm, police were advised a 27-year-old woman had been arrested after attending Echuca Police Station.
The woman has now been handed into the custody of detectives from NSW Police
Police are transporting the woman to Deniliquin Police Station where the warrant for attempted murder will be executed.
It is anticipated she will be refused bail overnight to appear in Deniliquin Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 4 March 2017).
