Drowning - Bondi Beach

A man has died and a woman is in a critical condition after being pulled from the water at Bondi Beach today.

Emergency services were called to the beach about 4.45pm (Thursday 2 March 2017) where life guards were performing CPR on the pair.

The 69-year-old man could not be revived and died at the scene.

The 66-year-old woman was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to St Vincent’s Hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

The man and woman are international tourists who are related to each other and were at the beach with a number of other people.

A report will be prepared for the NSW Coroner and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
