Child hit by car outside school - Haberfield

A child has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a school in Sydney’s Inner West this afternoon.
Just before 3.15pm (Wednesday 1 March 2017), emergency services were called to Bland Street, Haberfield, after a six-year-old boy was hit by a car travelling at low speed.
The boy was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead with non life-threatening injuries.
The male driver of the car was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result.
Officers from Ashfield Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police are reminding motorists and students to take extra care around buses and school zones.
